Perth Travel Guide Video

This may be one of the most isolated cities in the world, yet it has a beach scene full of beautiful people and a buzzing nightlife.

Visitors flock to Perth to bask in the fabulous warm weather, enjoy the golden beaches, visit the wineries and breweries, discover the history and immerse themselves in the culture of the capital of Western Australian (WA). Every afternoon, the “Freo Doctor”, a refreshing wind, blows in from the south to keep things comfortable. Perth is known for its down-to-earth, laid back fun-loving residents, making this the perfect place for some serious relaxation.Fire up the barbecue at the Botanic Garden in elevated Kings Park. For great views across the Swan River, the Swan Bells Bell Tower below the park is a great vantage point. Kids will adore Perth Zoo and Scitech and they’ll be blown away at the sight of the world’s most valuable coin at the Perth Mint. Satisfy their curiosity even further by taking them to the Western Australian Museum, where they can learn where the gold to make the coin came from, as it focuses on WA’s mining history, as well as a whole host of other interesting topicsExplore the city centre then catch a train or bus to some of Sydney’s suburbs like Subiaco and Cottlesloe. Cottesloe Beach is the perfect place to surf and if you follow the coast along to Hillarys Boat Harbour you’ll find plenty of fun family entertainment. The harbour’s also the location of theAquarium of Western Australia, worthy of a visit for some fishy fun.Just north from of the central train station is the Perth Cultural Centre, where you can cast your eye on some fascinating Aboriginal paintings at the Art Gallery of Western Australia

If you’re planning to set off on a viticultural adventure or to explore some of the old mining towns and wildlife parks surrounding Perth, it’s best to hire a car to get there. Hop on a ferry to Fremantle where you’ll find historic attractions, chilled Australian beer, Italian coffee and craft markets. WA also has its fair share of historic jails: find out how convicts lived with a trip to the Round House and Fremantle Prison. You could follow this with a trip Western Australian Maritime Museum. For a bit of time out Rottnest Island is an idyllic location where you can spot quokkas and seals.Perth has a wealth of attractions as well as fabulous beaches and plenty of sunshine. Don’t be put off the long journey from the east coast to Perth. This really is a special place to spend some time.
